meet the club

Supermarine Bowls Club was formed in 1947 under the name of Vickers Sports & Social Club. Our name changed to Supermarine Sports & Social Club in 1985. This was after the revolutionary Supermarine Spitfire built by Vickers Armstrong.

SUPERMARINE BOWLS CLUB

In the year 2002 members of Wills Bowls Club joined us. We are a private members club and in 2004 we purchased our own green and clubhouse, thanks to the generosity of its members and help from the English Bowling Association. (Now known as Bowls England).

We have extended our clubhouse by building new changing rooms and extended and refitted the kitchen. we now have full toilet facilities, along with ramp access for disabled persons, to the clubhouse.

The club competes in three MENS leagues, S&D Afternoon League, Swindon & District, and Bowls Wiltshire. Supermarine, have won the Swindon & District League 3 times. Also we have a ladies Section of about 18 ladies running one team in the evening league and one in the afternoon league.

SUPERMARINE bowls club prides itself on the social ambiance of the club and everyone is welcome. .The club is always looking for new members, young or not so young.
