Supermarine Bowls Club had the honour of a visit from the Mayor of Swindon Councillor Abdul Amin on 29th April. The Mayor was welcomed by Mick Kilburn, Club Captain plus Tony Kilburn, Chairman together with Ladies Captain, Susan Griffiths. Also present was the 2023 Wiltshire Bowls Ladies President, Sue Gravell, who is a member of Supermarine.
After a welcome was given to all members and guests of both Malmesbury and Supermarine Bowls Clubs the Mayor bowled the first wood to officially celebrate the opening of the green for the forthcoming season.
The club then held a “Spider” to raise funds for the Mayor’s official charities.
The game was played in a friendly but competitive spirit, being enjoyed by all those present.
